Sounds interesting - but then I got stung on the Talisker 12 y-o... 40-odd quid when the 'exclusive offer' mailer came round, knocked down to 30-odd quid a couple of months later when they hadn't shifted it all. Guess you really know who your Friends are with the Classic Malts...

It is a sherry casked Laga at 12yo. Its not being released in the UK, only on the continent.

If you want it you will have to pay for delivery from there. The price seems to be about 53 Euros.

And they're set to let it be sold in retail in general, so they must have loads of stock, it can't have been as limited as the Laga.

Yet another 12yo is set for this years Special Release-series. More than 30,000 bottles available and a RRP of £50 is Britain. (Link)

The new Special Release from Diageo have been annouced and will be available starting October 15 in most European countries:

There is a new Lagavulin Cask strength that is for sale at the distillery only the batch is 6000 bottlles,and I liked it a lot some bottlles came back to Belgium.

This is what I've found might be the ABV's and outturn for the 2010 Special Releases for this fall from Diageo. Don't quote me on these though as they aren't official.

Auchroisk 20Y - 58.1% - 5856 bottles
Brora 30Y - no info yet
Caol Ila unpeated 12Y - 57.6%
Cragganmore 21Y - 56% - 5856 bottles
Glen Spey 21Y - no info yet
Glenkinchie 20Y - 55.1% - 4854 bottles
Lagavulin 12Y - 56.5%
Port Ellen 31Y - no info yet
Talisker 30Y - 57.3% - 2958 bottles
