I tried the autumn release yesterday, and I must say very good, and what a great dram for just a 3 year old,no notes of new make what so ever.

I like it more than the inaugural release

There's a weird Kilchoman on Ebay just now - looks like a test tube with a lid. It claims to be 4cl of Inaugural Release. Anyone know anything about this - like is it legal from a copyright viewpoint? I guess this is like that site that sell samples.... Anyway, I asked the distillery (in passing) and they say it's definitely NOT an official release.

Miniatures of the Autumn release will be available on the Kilchoman website in the first week of next year. In case you want to try it without laying out £45 + postage.

According to the Kilchoman website the next release will be March 2010. No further details posted there as yet.

I asked about the Autumn release miniatures this week - they are waiting for the delivery of miniatures to the distillery before putting them on the site, probably the start of next week.

There did used to be a link on their site to the Spirit of Islay at one time , don't think it's there anymore , wonder if Anthony would be interested in a guest spot on a chat then ?

I know this is a bit obscure, but there's a 'news' article on Kilchoman website which mentions the following releases for the Japanese market:

3 year old single bourbon cask (bottled for Whisky Live! Japan)
3 year old single bourbon cask( bottled for Isetan Department Stores)
3 year old single cask( oloroso sherry hogshead)

Third release of Kilchoman is out (as of 5/4/10). Available from the Usual Suspects, though limited to 2 per customer at RMW as I think the relatively small number of bottles is spread quite thinly among the many distributors.

More details at http://www.kilchomandistillery.com/news/view/56/spring-2010-release.

And though I notice I seem to be the one to post the Kilchoman releases, I just thought I'd say I don't work for them! Just a collector... and drinker.

Tasted on Saturday at Limburg Germany, the new Spring Release and the Single Cask bottling for Germany. The Single cask was my favorite, more mature and subtle.

Kilchoman Single Cask 3yo for RMW. The first single cask 3yo generally available to UK punters (as opposed to the Feis bottle or bottlings for whisky fairs outside UK). Admittedly £60 but they're not exactly churning the stuff out!
